River and Runner's Pond Adventure (with mom & dad)

ABOVE:
River has these beautiful waves of fur going down her back and fittingly she loves the water. She goes in the pond up to her chest every time we make the trip down to the pond (which is usually 2x a day). She is watches daddy dog and is going in deeper and deeper each time we go down to the water, of course she is also getting bigger and bigger.


ABOVE:
Lucy in the pond. She loves runnig right into the water and taking a drink. She has this funny question mark of a tail that she hold high as she prances like this "?"


ABOVE: Yo Bear loves the pond too! He will start pawing at the ground and at the plants growing in the pond "dig, dig, dig" and then he'll "spoosh" with his nose under the water as he sniff out some roots. He has always been able to go into the water no matter the outdoor temperature.


Here is River watching dad, Yo Bear, you can identify her by her curles (waves) on her back.


Runner watches the action from a nice dry spot on the side of the pond. She looks like she may jump in . . .

The puppies and adult dogs enjoy pond time. It is the mid-point in our twice daily walk. I enjoy wearing boots and the kids and wading in too. I found several beautiful water lilies today. Below is a picture for your enjoyment.

Here is Yohimbe taking a snooze with a stuffed animal. Yo likes to grab something in his mouth and greet people at the door whenever they are gone for any length of time. Then he brings it into his lair. . .

Father's Day for Daddy Doggie

Although he does not think too much
of being a father
he is one
and so let's celebrate
this big hound
on father's day:

Oh, you lazy dog
the lady does all the work
what do you do?
You lounge about
and sniff the air
you bat your tail
or is your tail a bat?

Oh, you lazy dog
you are a dad now
you think those little ones
are so strange
you big dog
how can you be scared
of such cute puppies?
They are yours, you know!

Walk Around the Farm

Lucy and Yo Bear went on a walk with me around the property today sans puppies. Lucy has been taking longer leave of her babes, and she seems to know just when to wake them all up to nurse. She is now sleeping outside of the whelping box most of the time. I think it gives her more of a break and more space to stretch out and relax.
