Last 3 Kittens go to their new home today!

All of Kiki's kittens have new homes now. It has been a long 4 months, but just today the last 3 kittens went to their new home-- all together! The 3 kittens a re a dark tabby male, a solid gray male ("Ballerina"), and a light tabby female. The kittens will be living in Oak Harbor on 5 acres and be indoor/outdoor cats. It is a bittersweet departure for me, as I am happy to have the kittens at their new homes, but I enjoyed having them from the beginning to end . . . My 3 year old daughter Marina was actually okay (my surprise) with seeing them go to their new home, I think I had the hardest time! Marina spent a lot of time holding and playing with the kittens, especially the big male solid gray kitten she named "Ballerina". I once caught her putting a pink pearl necklace around his neck and a pink sheer scarf on that as a leash. And he just sat there, enjoying the attention. Now we will have just 3 cats: Kiki and two of her kittens from the first litter, PJ a big tiger stripe tom and Nooni Rose a small female light gray colored tabby.Above: "Ballerina"

Kittens are ready to go to their new homes! And the move to the Barn, a welcome change!

The Kittens have gotten big enough to move out to the barn. We need some mousers out there and our house just isn't big enough for 6 kittens. They love their new home and it sure is fun to go up and visit them. We just got 2 ponies for the girls and so we spend a lot of time at the barn with the ponies and kittens.

Tessala "Tessa" Goes Home to Donald, Jennifer & Bailey

A South Whidbey family just brought home their newest member, Tessa, last Tuesday as a birthday present for mom. Father and daughter, Donald & Bailey, picked her out. She is a sweet, calm puppy and is going to enjoy the youthful exuberance that comes from living with a family, as well as boat rides on the lake!

Rainy Day Puppy Pick-Up: Mary & Tom Take Yogi Bear Home

Mary and Tom picked up their new puppy and kitten Thursday morning. It was pouring rain and thundering, a real summer storm. This is the puppy we have been calling bear, due to his shaggy coat, lumbering gait, and big rolly poly body. He's off to a good start with one of his kitten friends and his new owners. Bye Bear!

Victor & family's Puppy

The last available male puppy was picked up by Victor for him & his family. There is one more male puppy who is paid for that will be going home next week. The puppies are now going on daily walks around the farm with me and their mom. We are also beginning to use dog psychology: exercise, discipline, and affection in that order to help the puppies understand that we humans are the pack leaders. That way the dogs can relax and be mellow. If they think they are the pack leaders then they will greet people for you, possibly show unnecessary aggression, push their way out the door before you, run away, etc! Check out Cesar Milan's web site for more information on this technique.

Brandi's Puppy

Another puppy went to its new home today. Brandi and family came and picked up a male we called "music" because of a white spot on his chest that looked like a musical note. It turns out Brandi's last dog, Oreo, came from the same litter that Lucy came from! Lucy is a real Island dog, born and raised here! Wow, what a co-incidence . . . Good Luck Brandi and have fun with your new addition!
